The Juris Doctor (JD) curriculum at Bowen seeks to provide students with strong foundations in the traditional areas of law, while also offering a diverse selection of electives. To receive the JD, students must complete 90 credit hours with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or better. Courses are prescribed during the first year of full-time study (or the first two years of part-time). After that, most of the curriculum is elective, allowing students to explore their interests in a wide array of areas. Curricular information and course descriptions may be found at http://www.law.ualr.edu/academics/curriculum/course_descriptions.asp.

About the Bowen School of Law (Part 2)
Bowen seeks to enroll approximately 140 students each year. The law school takes a “holistic” approach to admissions, meaning the Admissions Committee assesses a wide array of applicant factors. The law school values inclusion and is committed to enrolling students of diverse ethnicities and backgrounds. The application deadline is April 15, though candidates are strongly encouraged to apply by early January. First-year students are admitted for the fall semester only.
Bowen hosts prospective students on its campus throughout the year. In addition to attending scheduled events, prospective students may contact the Admissions Office to coordinate individual visits.

Welcome!
Welcome to “Let's Talk Bowen!”—the official admissions blog of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law. My name is Aaron N. Taylor; I’m the assistant dean for admissions here at Bowen.
The purpose of this blog is to be a source of information to Bowen applicants and prospects. The blog will include admissions updates, application tips, event notices, and just random “chatter” from me. And who knows, I may be able to get some of my colleagues here at Bowen to share their thoughts and insights. I encourage you to pose questions. I will answer them as quickly and completely as possible.
I look forward to communicating and interacting with you (albeit virtually) going forward!
